Forced Perspective Journal

1. What is the image of?

- The lady is supposably blowing air into the balloon.

2. How does this image use forced perspective?

- The balloon appears bigger than it actually is and the lady is supposably holding the end of it and blowing in it

3. How do you think they created this forced perspective?

- They placed the balloon close to the camera to make it appear bigger and the lady was further to make her appear smaller.

4. How would you have created it?

- Exactly how i explained it in number 3.

5. How do you think line of sight, depth of field and distance affected the image?

1. What is the image of?

- The girl is balancing on the guys foot.

2. How does this image use forced perspective?

- It appears as if the girl is smaller and she is balancing on the guys foot.

3. How do you think they created this forced

perspective?

- The guy is closer to the camera with his foot up and the girl is further away and at the spot where it appears she is balancing on his foot.

4. How would you have created it?

- Exactly how i explained it in number 3.

5. How do you think line of sight, depth of field and distance affected the image?

1. What is the image of?

- Somebody is holding a lantern in front of the sun.

2. How does this image use forced perspective?

- The sun is inside of the lantern appears to be the light of the lantern.

3. How do you think they created this forced perspective?

- Obviously the sun is really far and they placed the lantern to where the sun perfectly fit in the lantern.

4. How would you have created it?

- Exactly how i explained in number 3.

5. How do you think line of sight, depth of field and distance affected the image?

1. What is the image of?

- The doves/birds are coming out of the jar.

2. How does this image use forced perspective?

- It makes it appear as if the birds are coming out of the jar and flying away when they're really not.

3. How do you think they created this forced perspective?

- They placed the jar where the flock of birds started and when the birds got closer, they appeared bigger as if they came out of the jar.

4. How would you have created it?

- Exactly how i explained in number 3.

5. How do you think line of sight, depth of field and distance affected the image?

1. What is the image of?

- The little boy is licking the cloud that looks like ice cream.

2. How does this image use forced perspective?

- The cloud is perfectly placed "on" the cone so it makes it look like the little boy is about to eat the cloud.

3. How do you think they created this forced perspective?

- They placed an ice cream cone right under where the cloud was and the cloud is obviously further than the camera so it appears perfectly placed on the cone.

4. How would you have created it?

- Exactly how I explained in number 3.

5. How do you think line of sight, depth of field and distance affected the image?

1. What is the image of?

- The giant foot is stepping on the people and is about to squish them.

2. How does this image use forced perspective?

- The foot appears as if it is bigger than the people and like if its about to squish them.

3. How do you think they created this forced

 perspective?

- The shoe was right in front of the camera with some space left below so it looks like he is stepping on the people and the people are further from the camera.

4. How would you have created it?

- Exactly how I explained in number 3.

5. How do you think line of sight, depth of field and distance affected the image?

1. What is the image of?

- A little girl holding a guy.

2. How does this image use forced perspective?

- It appears as if the guy is tiny enough that she could be holding him with her fingers.

3. How do you think they created this forced perspective?

- The guy was probably far enough to make him look tiny since he's taller than the little girl and the girl came closer to the camera in order to look bigger.

4. How would you have created it?

- Just as explained in question #3.

5. How do you think line of sight, depth of field and distance affected the image?

Black and White Body Photography

I chose to take images on parts of the body (body photography). I thought it would be a cool idea to take images such as lips, shoulder, hands, collar bones, eyes, etc. because I feel that they can show a lot about someone and especially in black and white, it would give some mysterious effect.

Journal #6

1. What did you shoot for your independent project?

- I shot body photography such as eyes, shoulders, collar bones and lips. The images were also in black and white and in a tub with water mixed with milk.

2. How well did you think you did on your independent project?

- I think I did pretty good on my independent project because I took the images myself and i was my own model so all I needed was the tri-pod an I put a self-timer. I also gave the images a mysterious effect and took them above water mixed with milk.

3. If you get to do another independent project what would you want to do?

- I'd probably want to do nature shots such as the sky and flowers. Nature is everywhere and it wouldn't be a hard thing to take an image of. I'd probably take them in macro.

4. How did you do this 3rd six weeks of school?

- I did really good and I'm proud of myself because my grades are good this semester; probably the best they've ever been. I did really good on tests and turned in assignments on time and got good grades on them.

5. How do you think you are doing this semester are you going to pass everything?

- I am passing all of my classes with a B or higher and I hope they don't go down with the finals. My grades should be going up because I retook tests to get a higher score and turned in missing assignments.

Journal #5

1. Why did you pick this style of photography to emulate for your independent project?

- I picked body photography because I'm really intrigued by pictures of eyes and other body parts that are photographed because they're really appealing to see.

2. How are you going to shot this style of photography? What is your plan to accomplish this assignment?

- My shots will mostly be close ups of a body part and the shots will be in a tub filled with water mixed with milk so it appears a bit foggy.

3. What is the artistic value of this style of photography?

- I didn't give a gift to anyone, not something i spent at least but i think spending time with my other family was enough of a gift to them from me because i had to be away from my family here in Albuquerque to be with them and I really missed them.

5. Did you see any new movies over the break? If so which one and should I go see it and why?

- I didn't see any movies that cane out recently but I watched a lot of Toy Story because of my baby nephew, he wanted to watch it over and over again. You should watch this movie if you haven't already because it is a really good movie for being a cartoon and its kind of funny.

- My New Years resolution would probably be to stop procrastinating so much because i leave everything to the last minute and I always say ill get something finished or start something and i never do. 12. What did you do on New Years Eve? Did you watch the ball drop in Times Square?

- I just spent time with my family even though i was on my phone half of the time and so were they. My family from Albuquerque visited for New Years which was great because I missed them. We cooked meat outside and other was lots of music and some dancing.
